Get Text Info Script
Copyright © July, 2003 SuzShook
The purpose of this script is to add text of the user's choosing, in the Font and Size selected by the user, to any image. The script generates 3 dialog boxes. The first asks for the name of the font to use, the second asks for the actual text you want to enter, and the third asks for the text size.
This script works as a stand-alone script. The text created in this script is vector text, and it will appear in the top, left corner of the image. Once the script completes, you can change the position, material, size, etc. of the text to suit your needs.
The first 3 steps of the code can also be inserted into other scripts that already have text steps within them. Just insert the 3 dialog steps at the beginning of the script. Then, replace code within the script as follows:
- Any place you have 'Font': 'xxxxxxxxxxxx' replace with 'Font': Font. The default is currently set to Arial, and the font will default to Arial if an invalid font name is inserted.
- Any place you have 'PointSize': xx, replace with 'PointSize': Size. The default is currently set to 18.
- Any place you have 'Characters': 'xxxxxxxx', replace with 'Characters': Text. The default is currently set to Welcome.
Alternately, all steps of this script can be inserted into another script where text input is desired. To do this copy lines 14 - end to the other script at the point where you wish text to be entered.
Download the script - this script runs from any Restricted folder, including its own Quick Guide folder.
